Minimum relative humidity values will hover around 20 to 30 percent and northwest winds will gust frequently around 25 mph for Maryland...Northern Virginia and the eastern panhandle of West Virginia. The combination of low relative humidity...breezy conditions and low fuel moisture will enhance the threat for the Spread of wildfires this afternoon. Conditions will improve by this evening as the winds decrease and the relative humidity increases. Residents are urged to exercise caution handling any potential ignition source...including machinery...cigarettes...and matches. Be sure to properly discard all smoking materials. Any dry grasses and tree litter that ignite will have the potential to spread quickly. |
