Just after midnight on Wednesday Engine Company 25 was alerted for a MVA at Temple Hill Rd. and Kirbywood St. Upon arrival of Engine 255 members observed a single vehicle in the woods with the driver ejected into a dense overgrowth of briars. Lt. Rucker, the OIC of the Engine Company reqested a Medivac heliopter and an ALS unit. Crew member T. Russell accessed the patient and made an initial assessment, while directing other crew members to package him for movement. Meanwhile, Lt. Rucker grabbed the thermal imager to look for a reported second patient. Upon confirming that there was only one patient, he returned to assist the crew with removing the patient. It required several minutes more to remove the victim and hand him to the Medics for tranport to the LZ. Chief 25 Robert Small commanded the incident operations. The crew on Engine 255 consisted of Driver R. Mason, OIC Lt. Rucker, F/F Russell, F/F Butler, EMT Williams.
