| We are remembering September 11, 2001, and honoring the 343 FDNY firefighters who gave their lives helping thousands escape the World Trade Center. Their courage saved thousands of lives, even as they made the ultimate sacrifice. In the years since, more than 360 FDNY members have died from 9/11-related illnesses — proof that the impact of that day is still being felt.
Here in Clinton, the attack on the Pentagon was personal. Families in our community lost friends and loved ones, while others survived and still carry those memories.
Local fire departments, including volunteers, stepped up to cover calls while the first due rushed into the Pentagon. That spirit of service is what binds us together.
This year’s 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb and Walk will be held at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center, National Harbor, on Saturday, September 13th. The event not only pays tribute to those we lost, but also raises money for the survivors and families still in need.
We are remembering, we are supporting, and as a community we stand together.
We will never forget. 💙 |
