A large hole has opened within our house. Today we salute one who is revered as a Matriarch, Mentor, and Friend. This wonderful lady passed away on May 30, 2013, at the young age of 96. Active and always rowdy, she lived and loved with a ferocity few can hope to match. Mae was the last founding member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Clinton Volunteer Fire Department. She was always willing and ready to serve the members in any way she could. Be it rummage sales, bake sales, fund drives, dinners, carnivals or whatever, May was in it 100%. She never lost her love for us, nor we for her. She was the second mother to so many of us, motivating and encouraging and always able to make us do things we would not do on our own.

We weep now, but not so much for the sorrow of her passing, but more so because we know how much we have gained from her lifetime with us. Sleep in peace dear lady, we will always have you in our hearts.
