Lint happens. Fires don’t have to.

Most people don’t realize how many house fires start with something as simple as dryer lint. Cleaning the lint trap and dryer vent only takes a minute, but it can make a real difference.

Lint buildup can lead to a dryer fire if it’s not cleaned regularly.

• Clean the lint filter before or after each load.
• Make sure the outdoor vent flap opens when the dryer is running.
• Have a qualified service person clean the inside of the dryer cabinet and exhaust duct once a year.
