Become a Clinton Volunteer
There are virtually thousands of reasons why people in communities all over the United States decide to become members of volunteer fire companies. Those members of our community who spend countless hours at work, have weekends filled with family and personal activities still find time to volunteer and get a sensation and fulfillment that is hard to find in today’s world.
Free Training
The volunteers in the State of Maryland are treated to the finest, most progressive training in the United States, and best of all, it’s provided to you for FREE! For an overview of the curriculum for the Fire and Rescue programs, visit the Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute website.
Associate Memberships
Membership in the Clinton VFD is not limited to just those individuals who are primarily interested in fire suppression or proving emergency medical services. Our organization is always looking for Associate Members that provide their time and services to ensure our department is operating efficiently.
Membership Benefits
- Free Training – available to all members through the Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute as well as the National Fire Academy in Emmittsburg, MD.
- Tax Break - Members who reside in Maryland are extended a $3,500 tax break
- Retirement - After completing 25 years of qualified service volunteers are eligible to receive a cash award after reaching age 65. Members must earn a minimum number of points per year to be eligible.
- Scholarships - Available through various county and state organizations to members in good standing
- Fulfillment/Satisfaction – Help your community and build lifelong friendships

If your at least 16 years of age, your eligible for an Associate or Active (Operational) membership. All members are required to undergo a comprehensive background investigation before your application is presented to the membership body for approval.
