This year the Forestville Volunteer Fire Department will be hosting a Public Safety Day / Open House. The event will be open to the public and we have notices flyers and advertising with all the area churches and are working with several local organizations (Odd Fellows, Masons, & Moose) to also advertise the event so we are expecting a large attendance at the event. We also have American Automobile Association who will be setting up a table, as well as a cooperative effort between the National missing and Exploited Children and the Secret Service to do child ID’s on site. We are also using this event to help raise funds for William “Bill” Huttenloch who is recovering in Chicago from his VAD heart pump implant, and raise awareness of heart disease.
What we would like to request is to have Truck 25 come up for the day and set up so that those who attend could see a ladder truck. We will also be happy to provide you space to do some recruiting if desired, or if you have any handouts we will be sure to make room for you.
The date of our event will be October 2, 2010 from 9 am until 3 pm, at station 23. The contact person will be Jeffrey Beavers, and he can be reached at 301-343-0272, or at the company email Forestville23Volunteers@yahoo.com.
Thank you from the
