The residents of a 2 story split foyer home in the 3300 block of Accolade Drive were away from home when their neighbors called 911 to report that their house was on fire. Clinton VFD arrived quickly and found fire on all floors. Along with high temperatures Firefighters had to deal with heavy smoke that produced near zero visibility as they worked to suppress the fire and search for victims inside the home. No victims were found in home and there were no injuries reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. Clinton, Allentown, Accokeek, Brandywine, Oxon Hill, Morningside, Silver Hill, District Heights, Forestville and a unit from Charles County responded to the home.
