[imagebrowser id=6]January 2nd, 1608 hours, Truck 25 was dispatched “first due truck” to Gloria Drive, in Company 29′s (Silver Hill) area for a deck on fire. Safety Officer 802 (M. White) arrived to find heavy fire showing from the attic area. Truck 25 arrived after Engine 291 and 272 and deployed ground ladders and lights. The truck crew than entered the basement with Engine 321 (Allentown) and attempted to extinguish the fire in the basement. Command then ordered all units out of the structure due to instability in the floor. Once all crews were accounted for, Truck 25 was ordered to enter on the first floor, quadrant “B” and open up for ventilation. Once inside the structure, the floor collapsed, taking a firefighter from Company 27 almost into the basement. Command ordered the evacuation of the structure once again and the firefighter was safely removed by personnel from 27, 29 and 21. Truck 25 then assisted Fairfax County Engine 411 (Penn-Daw) with extinguishing fire in the basement and then Entered the structure to overhaul. Units cleared at 2036 hours and Duty Chief 801 (Hess) had Command. This incident marked the 3rd fire in less than 24 hours for Truck 25.
